Our commitments

Meet applicable environmental legal and other compliance obligations and keep our controls under review. Assess environmental risks and opportunities when planning projects and maintenance activities, and minimise adverse impacts. Prevent pollution and manage fuels, oils, materials and waste responsibly around water.

Reduce avoidable emissions, energy and resource use, concentrating effort where it can make the greatest practical difference. Protect natural and heritage features and work considerately alongside navigation, towpath users, neighbouring communities and other stakeholders. Provide appropriate information and training and seek continual improvement in environmental performance.

Responsibility

Directors and line managers are responsible for implementation. Employees and contractors are required to follow project controls, report environmental concerns and support the objectives of this policy.

This is a concise public statement of WHH's policy commitments. The controlled internal policy, supporting procedures, records and approval status are maintained separately within the WHH management system.
