Public policy statement
Health & Safety Policy
Wood, Hall & Heward Ltd places health and safety at the centre of every operation. We plan, resource and supervise our work to prevent injury and ill health and to protect employees, contractors, clients, waterway users and the public.
Our commitments
Eliminate preventable injury and reduce health and safety risks so far as is reasonably practicable. Identify hazards and control risk through competent planning, suitable risk assessments and method statements, appropriate plant, supervision and personal protective equipment. Meet applicable health and safety law, regulation and recognised codes of practice.
Provide suitable information, instruction, training and resources, and consult the people who may be affected by our work. Require employees and subcontractors to work safely, protect others and report unsafe conditions, incidents and injuries promptly. Review performance and learn from incidents, observations and project experience to support continual improvement.
Responsibility
The Managing Director has overall responsibility for the policy. Managers implement it within their areas of control, while every employee and subcontractor is expected to follow agreed controls and contribute to a safe working environment.
This is a concise public statement of WHH's policy commitments. The controlled internal policy, supporting procedures, records and approval status are maintained separately within the WHH management system.
