Cargo capacity is only part of the choice. Waterway gauge, lock dimensions, loading method, journey time and road mobilisation all affect the right solution. WHH can combine powered craft, hoppers and site plant into a practical operating system.
Published dimensions and capacities are a guide. Final suitability, loading, stability and working configuration are confirmed against the site and intended operation.
Waterborne logistics
01 · Cargo barges & hoppers
A traditional self-propelled cargo barge able to move heavy bulk loads without a separate tug. Pumped ballast improves handling when empty, with onboard power and basic welfare available on selected vessels.
02 · Cargo barges & hoppers
Large tanked cargo barges for the heaviest bulk loads, including dredgings and aggregates. They can also carry machinery, with floodable flotation tanks creating extra hold depth for oversized equipment.
03 · Cargo barges & hoppers
Smaller hoppers for sites where maximum capacity is unnecessary or unavailable. Their shorter hulls can share a lock with a tug and carry a mini tug in the hold during road transport.
04 · Cargo barges & hoppers
Cargo capacity for waterways restricted to a 7ft beam. Narrow hoppers can also work in pairs on broad waterways where navigation width or site access prevents use of a single wide hopper.
05 · Cargo barges & hoppers
High-volume open barges for cargo, site equipment and floating access. With suitable stability assessment they can support MEWPs or scissor lifts for bridge and canalside operations.
06 · Cargo barges & hoppers
Compact utility barges for small plant, low-volume materials or additional site storage. They can also provide supplementary stabilisation alongside the heavy crane barge for selected lifting operations.
